eye went foggy during PRK

eye went foggy during PRK

I had PRK on both my eyes 2 weeks ago and I wanted to see if what I saw was normal.  My right eye went fine, could see through the entire operation, got clearer right after the surgery.  My left eye on the other hand started to kind of hurt during the surgery, I could feel the pressure and the rubbing as he was removing the epithelium.  Then, once he scraped it all off, my eye went foggy.  I could not even see the lights, all I saw is what you think you would see looking through a cataract.  He told me to look at the laser, but I could not see it.  He had to shut the lights off just so I could see the red light!  It didn't actually clear up until he squirted it with something and put the bandage contact on.  Now 2 weeks later  I am seeing ghosting in that eye, or a slightly blurred image with a slightly lighter copy image to the left of it.  Could that be because they took more tissue off of that eye?  I did not ask my surgeon because he turned the light off for me without me even asking him.  I think he knew that I could not see it.  I was just wondering if that could be a problem and also was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?

Most PRK patients once the surface of the cornea is scraped off see terrible. Your first eye experience is unusual. Your best course of action is just to ask the surgeon for an explanation.

Later on if your eye isn't up to your expectations you can get a second opinion.
