eyeball losing its roundness

eyeball losing its roundness

Hi,
I have periodical eye pain throughout the day, accompanied with occasional flashes of light, floaters, and diplopia in both eyes (the type which makes me see the ghostly double of an image of light). Whats more worrisome is that my eyes seem to be "flattening" on the top, bottom and sides and the symptoms above are getting worse as months go by. The pain is on the side of the eyeballs that are near the nose and after i get these pains, i notice that the round shape of the eye subtley disappears over the next week or so. I know the eyes are not exactly round, but these changes are noticeable as the weeks and months go by. even my friends and familly have noticed. The best I can describe my eye shape  as being is like the disease called keratoconus, only that the shape change is not occurring to the cornea but the entire eyeball. I have a history of a fractured skull in my left frontal lobe that stretches down into the eye socket and to the bottom left of it. this fracture occurred about 5 years ago from a blunt object impact. I have alot of pain there too and as months go by it seems to be opening more. the neurosurgeons never informed me of my eyesocket being fractured, but my ocularplastic surgeon told me about it and I saw it in the CT scan.
I've been to cornea specialists, ocular plastic surgeons, neurosurgeon and even a rheumatologist. They all have noticed that my left eye has sunken in more, but deny seeing  the shape changes, except the rheumatologist and one cornea specialist. If they see it, they refer me to an ocular plastic surgeon and then that surgeon refers me to another cornea specialist. This is not at all in my head and the symptoms I am seeing and feeling are real. One general ophthalmologist said I have have a mild form of scleromalacia and that I have some straibismus but that no intervention is needed yet. My question is what specialist should I see as they all seem to be unwilling to treat me or uneducated in whatever condition I have. Is there any test to ascertain the integrity of my sclera or medications I should take as a precaution to prevent the eyeball from withering? I've given up hope in my eye doctors and am very depressed about this. I'm 29 years old, male, and my only health condition I have is high cholesterol, former smoker, and low testosterone.Your advise will be GREATLY appreciated, Thank you.
