face down recovery

how long do i need to keep my face down with a bubble and what type activities can i do
my doctor is a med student and is not avil by phone my nrxt apointment is 3 weeks my surgery was 5 days ago
i had catract surgery on dec 21 08 some nthing happeh during surgery and another doctor had to be called in i beleive a retina dr, i beleive the lense fell into the back of the eye,  after surgery it seemed to br going ok i could read with out glasses but after two feet away things were out of focus. But then after 3 weeks i got a horsehoue curtain in the left of my eye i went in a few days later and was told i had a detached retina they did another surgery 3 days later. It is verypainful and it is like lookig through a fish bowl kind of makes me  queasy so i am keeping it covered and trying to keep my face down,  
any suggestons would be greatly appeiceated

Usually about two weeks of face down.  You should be able to call the clinic and leave a message.  It would be very unusual for a medical student to manage this type of case.
