flash adn flickers after retina surgery

I am only 21 and I had a retina surgery on my right eye. After the surgery, I immediately found my left eye experiencing flickers. Now it is two months after the surgery but both of my eyes are experiencing flickers and flashes. I went to see the retina specialist who checked and said nothing wrong.

Does any one know is there is any help? I do not want to loss my vision, I am too young. Please if there is any anwser.

There is an online web page to find ratingd for doctors, Canada included. It's called Ratemds com  See if that can help you find one.

Right now, we don't know you will need another surgery. Bu you need to be checked regularly,

I hope you feel better.

I am not a doctor. I am a community leader. I have had 5 retina surgeries and my daughter had 2 at 18. My daughter is fine now.

I think you need a second opinion, or to go back and insist that Doc#1 take another look; It is your left eye I am most worried about. But both eyes should be checked. You can fcan have flickers after retina surgery, even though the eye is fixed. It still needs to be checked. Your healthy eye needs to be watched very carefully. I had my doctor laser my good eye, because the other eye is always vulnerable, and because I was getting new areas of lattice  (retinal) degeneration all the time. He lasered it 360 degrees, and every doctor who looks at it says it is unlikely that retina will ever detach. It still has tobe watched. I see the doctor every 2 months, or more often, if I have new floaters or other new symptoms, such as different flashes.

There is also a chance that your left eye could detach again. You need to stay on top of this, with a retinologist.

You can find another doctor www.aao.org., if you chose to.

I hope that all checks out OK.

Dr. Hagan will check my posting.
