floaters and flashes after retina lazor surgery

i recently had lazor surgery for a tear in the retina for my left eye. I reported back a week later and the doctor
examined my eye and found nothing wrong i did inform the doctor i was still having flashes at night and
some floaters also. The doctor told me to report back in three months or sooner if i developed more problems.
My question to you doctor is it normal to have flashes and floaters after lazor surgery. my age is 74 years old.

flashes imply that there is still traction on the retina and new tears could develop (it is not from the laser itself).  If you still continue to have flashes of light or if they get any worse, I would recommend getting a dilated exam once a month.
