floaters and flashes

Hi there!
Since about 6 weeks I am experiencing floaters and flashes. I went to see my opthamologist and he says my retina is intact .
My question is will the flashes go away (I can live with the floaters but the flashes scare me)
If they do go away, why do they? In other words....what happens in the eye for them to vanish?
Thanks for any reply.

In most people the flashes stop usually within 6 weeks of their beginning. There are some people including those who have posted here that have flashes for much longer but do not end up with RD.  What  stops the flashes is that the vitreous no longer adhears to the retina.
