floaters and flashing lights

What is the best way to prevent a detached retina?  I am 65 and have high bloodpressure.  Both floaters and flashing lights appeared one day following strenous dancing.  Should I avoid fast dancing?      Thank you for your response.       Rusty1943

I just had all the test and was told to return in one month since there are not any tears in my retina yet.    Will  a normal blood pressure stop these vision floaters and  flashes?   Thanks, Rusty 1943
