I have been using finesteride instead of flomax for the last 4 month. Is that a better alternative for cataract surgery

Will the surgeon be able to compensate for the flomax damage already done. Will it be a better alternative not to have the cataracts done to prevent complications. However I do need the surgery, but I am weighing one thing against the other before I decide.
