fluid behind eye

fluid behind eye

Have worn corrective glasses or contacts for 45 years.  Most recent visit for yearly eye exam...a new type of
test? xray? of the retina or veins behind the eye...and there was some hazy water noticed and one small area with blurr...near the macural.  My vision is exactly the same as ever...I have no symptoms and no issues with this eye at all.  I have had blood checked...lab results..no diabedes...no medical issues..slightly elevated BP in morning...
I am being sent to retina specialist...but getting anxious because I feel strong-armed and DO NOT WANT TO MESS with my eye...when I have no issue.    I feel I might get pushed into shots  or somesuch...
Will eye drop work?   My appt. is this week.. the optomotrist really has frightened me...but because I have no issue...and this xray ? is new procedure...coould I have had this condition since I was younger?  Is this critical before actual changes in vision occur? I have always taken good care of my eyes and the difference between the two eyes has NOT changed.  I feel fear is being used to push me into a procedure I don't need.  Just making the referral call...the receptionist is saying to the retinal specialist...'Do you have payment plans for this client? (no ins. coverage)  Paying for the office visit was not the issue...they were already setting up payment plan for procedure I may or may not need...What is happening...and is this as serious when patient does NOT have any symptoms...
and according to the optomotrist...'you see remarkably well for having water so near macular'  I generally feel like I have always had this issue with right eye....should I fear going blind overnight?

A diagnosis would be helpful.  This could be a number of things from macular degeneration to a vascular occlusion.  I would recommend you get this checked.
