flying after retna detachment

Had a retna tare about 6 weeks ago. Had laser surgery the next day. Scheduled to take my first flight from Philadelphhia to Mexico this Monday. My Dr tells me I should not have a problem. Should I be concerned. I'm thinking of not going.
