foggy/blurry in one eye

About two weeks ago I randomly woke up with very very foggy vision in my right eye.  I have never had this problem before.  I do wear contacts but I do not sleep in them at night-to me the vision looked like it would if I put my contact in and there was a smudge on it.  So I immediately went to my eye doctor who told me that I have swelling in my edema and there were folds that aren't very common so he sent me to an Opthamologist.  I went to see this Opthamologist who, after about five people looked at me, told me that it "looked like I have trauma in my eye", "looks like there might be an infection", etc etc.  Basically he had no clue and sent me to an ER room to see a corneal specialist.  I went to the ER and they had me see an Opthamologist, I *never* saw a corneal specialist.  He told me that I had an infection in my eye due to the fact that I was in a public hottub (hotel) with my contacts in.  He gave me vigamox.  I followed up the next day and they said it looked like everything was getting better and they gave me some anti-swelling and sauve for at night.  Everything got better for me and I went off the drops like the doctor told me to.

Now one week after stopping the drops the eye is blurring up again.  I was told I had a ulcer on my cornea but researching seems to show that that involves pain, which I have not had.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I do not have health insurance and have paid out well over $1,000 to get back to square one.

You still need to be see since your vision is not back to normal. Could be a corneal scar from the ulcer, could be something else as simple as a change in glasses or a different health problem.

I am sorry I did not specify.. I haven't worn my contacts in this entire time frame.  I am currently wearing glasses.

What happens if I indeed do have a corneal ulcer and have taken Vigamox and it has returned?  Does that mean that something else is wrong and I was misdiagnosed the first time.  The opthalmologist told me that the infected area was too small to take a sample.

Well for starters STOP WEARING CONTACTS AND DO NOT WEAR THEM IN THE FUTURE.

You could have lost your eye from an infected corneal ulcer. Vigamox is the strongest antibiotic out there. Corneal ulcers need not be painful.

Follow up with the opthalmologist of your choice and stay away from optometrists.
