glaucoma post retinal detachment surgery

glaucoma post retinal detachment surgery

I had retinal detachment surgery with gas bubble insertion.Having problems with eye pressure and changing meds several times. 4 weeks later, said bubble was in wrong place and had new tears on 2nd surgery. Did vitrectomy with scleral buckle and gas bubble. 2 weeks later Pressure still up . Saw glaucoma specialist who thinks I have glaucoma but can't see optic nerve because of bubble but thinks surgery is needed.Which surgery would be best for this? They usually do shunt or trab?? surgery but has not done it on someone with buckle before. What do you think?

Why can't they control your pressure with medications and release of fluid.  Usually, you can get through the short term pressure elevation with these measures.   If you definitely need surgery see a glaucoma specialist who can put in a shut with a buckle in place.  I do not think  a trab will work in this situation with a recent trauma to the conjunctiva.
