glucoma after catract surgery and cnnot see anything

Hi , my is sunsha , My mom in India got cataract surgery 15 days ago . still she conot see anything. she is 65 years old with controled deabetic . The doctors said the operation went well . but the next day she could not see anything, The doctors cehcked and said she has pressure in the eyes and gave medicines for glucoma. they told her wait 10 days.

                     She went yesterday and they told her may be the optic nerve is dameged not getting the bolld enough. and told her get the scan. sheis going to Vizag (india) to check the eyes. and told her she may need 5 or 6 steroid injections.

Can she see again . I am worried sick from USA .  Please help me sugest something.

Go to www.aao.org and look for a cataract/IOL specialist near you or ask your personal physician for a referral.

             My mom has only one good eye. do they have any therpy to see with one eye. how much vision does she have with one eye. I am planning to bring her to USA in couple of months . Can u sugest any place they have therpy. I live in knoxville ,tn.

     The doctors did scaning and said nerve was dameged some what. and they checked the glucoma and said she did not have glucoma. but the pressure started after the surgery. They gave her some  medicine to control pressure and gave Nurobian-40 for Nerve strenghening . Do you have any idea why the presure is comming. Please advise me.

         My mom told me the doctors are thinking that it damged the optic nerve. they still testing 2 Vigaz in india . My brother is planning to bring my mom to USA  an the end of the month. . If he brings her here can you   tell me where to take her and can you tell me the  whom to contact.  Do they have any special treatments.

There is no way we can evaluate what her problem is, or determine a prognosis. She should get a second opinion from the best glaucoma ophthalmologists available. Certainly this is a very serious problem.
