Hi Doc i would love to know does bulgy eyes ever come back to normall with out having surgerey?If the thyroid gland is under contrll will the eyes come under controll?Thanks a mill claire

It is a very complex problem.  Even if the thyroid levels return to normal, this often has little effect on the proptosis and lid retraction and it can even get worse in some cases.  In the end, you definitely cannot count on it to go down on its own, though occasionally this can happen to some degree.  I suggest you keep in close touch with a thryoid eye disease specialist at someplace like Mayo Clinic or at least see a well-trained oculoplastic specialist ophthalmologist.
