gray ring around the eye
If you look at close-up pictures of human eyes, some of them have a gray ring around. The attached photo has an example. Not every eye has them, but quite a few. So it probably isn't a medical problem. But I'm curious what this is. Is it some inner part of the eye visible through the sclera? Which part?

The sclera is thin in this area and you are seeing the underlying choroid.
