heavy lifting after retinal detachment surgery

by brightonmarie, Jun 04, 2007 12:00AM
I had surgery for an off macular retinal detachment 6 weeks ago. The gas bubble was gone after 3 weeks and I was given the all clear to drive and resume normal activities 10 days ago.

I've been advised not to play high impact sports such as kick boxing or do things like bunmgee jumping but is it now safe to do heavy lifing - ie large pots on the garden and 75 litre bags of soil?

Many thanks

Marie

Why don't you call your retinal specialist's office for an answer.  That makes more sense than asking advice about this online.

I totally agree. Your ophthalmologist is the only person that can give you a specific answer.
