high myopia

My 1 1/2 year old son has been diagnosed with high myopia (-8) in his left eye. His right eye is normal. He has been wearing glasses and patching for 4 hour a day since April. i want to know what is the chance of improvement? ihave no hope of his eye goes beter ?

Your child will need to be followed carefully for many years. With contacts and patching it will help the vision but it will not likely be normal vision.
