hypermobility syndrome and lasik or PRK surgery

I would reallly like to get rid of the glasses and have vision corrective surgery.  At 52 years of age, I have work corrective lenses for 44 years.  However most of my joints are hypermobile and I have been told I have either a mild case of EDS (benign hypermobility syndrome) or benign hypermobility syndrome not EDS.  There is a really fine dividing line, I am told.  I know that EDS is a contraindication because of the collagen issues.  If I have benign hypermobility syndrome but not EDS can I still go ahead with the surgery?  Since diagnosis was about 20 years ago, is there a way at this time that an eye surgeon could get enough information to ensure a successful lasik or PRK surgery?

I have to be totally honest with you in that I really have nothing to add here. Please repost with attention to Dr. Feldman, she does a lot of Lasik and PRK.  It seems that your flexible joints and a corneal ectasia are very different things and there may not be a problem with lasik if your correction is not too great.  I would want to make very sure that your corneal topography and corneal thickness absolutely no signs of ectasia (unstable cornea.)
