i need right advices, Lasik

hi, my brother is 22,  his eyes are -7.25,
some days ago he had an appointment for Lasik, but when he did pachymetry the doctor told him your cornea is thick (about 450-460 micron in central region) and you should not undergo any laser procedure,
the doctor told the only alternative is IOL, but no laser surgeries,

but can we do PRK, or epilasik or Lasek or other Laser surgeries rather than IOL?
please, we need correct advice,

By the way, i have heard all doctors tell the patients not to wear contact lenses 2 weeks before Lasik,  but his doctor didn't tell him so, and he had soft lenses till the day before the pachymetry,,can this affect his cornea thickness?
thanks,

First of all you have it backwards. His cornea is THIN, not thick. Get a second or third opinion from other refractive eye MD surgeons. While it may not be possible to cure all of his myopia a laser on the surface of the eye PRK might correct 75-85% of his myopia. Moreover the risk of IOL or intraocular contact lens is much higher than PRK.

Wearing contacts wold make the corena be thicker not thinner.
