iris discolor

my son is 10 months and i realized a focal red spot around 6 - 12 oclock (thinking off the eye as a clock) and on the edge of his iris is grey kind of absence of color its been there for a week. today i looked at the top of his eye the part that is usually covered by the lid and it has a light film of discolor like greyish but not so dark i cant see the color of his eye and im afraid he is going blind is this true. or what is wrong? a little while ago my dimond ring sits up in its setting and we were playing and it poked him in the eye but he blanked it off and it didnt seem to have hit that hard. could that blind him

I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself by talking about blindness.  If there is a small spot on the eye that looks unusual, then it would be a good idea to have an ophthalmlogist or at the very least your pediatrician look at it.  I cannot say what you are noticing but I am curious and think you should definitely have it checked out.  Hopefully it is nothing to worry about.
