is my eye problem stress or virus related or something else?

I had a very bad eye infection about 8 months ago where my one eyelid was swelled up for about a week.  It was diagnosed as a virus - and the doctor said it was 'pink eyes' (I however think that the pink eyes was probably a secondary infection).  For the past 6 months whenever I am stressed (mostly), my left eye top eyelid swell up a bit (slightly) and my actual eye seem to get a bit bigger and appear to be a bit 'hazy'.  With pain (almost like a pressure) from my cheek, up next to my eye and my left forehead. It lasts for about 2-3 days and no painkillers helps.  It does not seem to be the eye itself but the area surrounding/behind the eye

I went to the doctor (GP) and he brushed it off as 'stress related'.

However I am not convinced that its stress related - as I never had the problem before - only from the time I had that bad eye infection.

Have you ever googled the word 'migraine'?  If not, give it a try.  You might find some interesting things regarding your symptoms.

Some viral eye infections cause recurrent problems in the cornea.  Please see an ophthalmologist.
