is this spasm of accomodation?

Hi,
I have this problem 10 years ago, and its getting worse

I saw an ophthalmologest, my vision was - 12 before cycloplegic drops, and - 4 after the drops.

and I have been diagnosed with accomodative spasm

the thing is , sometimes I can do this intentionaly, i mean it is not invoulantary, I do that,

I can spasm my muscles to be -12 or be relaxed at -4 . is this considerd also as accomodaive spasm?

and since i had side effects from atropine and cyclogel,. my doctor prescriped pilocarpine to me !

how does pilocarpine work on accommodative spasm ?

thank you

let me answer your first question , yes it spasm accommodation .After cycloplegia your ciliary muscles relaxed to a greater extend ,from -12 before to -4 ,its just a big margin .Nevertheless ,using the result after cycloplegia -4 ,its showing that you are myopic .

Go and see your doctor for further refraction examination and get prescribed correct glasses .

Atropine and cyclogyl paralyzes the accommodation muscle.  Pilocarpine stimulates it.

I do not understand what your doctor is trying to accomplish.  Speak to him(her).
