kid with astigmatism and pain in eyes

hi.... my 4 year old son has been diagnosed as having high astigmatism of 2 and 2.5 in rt and lt eyes.he has been  wearing spectacles since 2 months.now he is very frequently complaining of eye pain as he wakes up in the morning and also says that something white is moving in his eyes on and off .i have got myopia and astigmatism since 14 years .what could be his problem?is this hereditary?if i ve another kid will he/she have the same problem?

1. Astigmatism is not a disease it just means the cornea is not round (aspherical). It will not cause the type of symptoms your child is complaining of. Hopefully your child is under the care of an ophthalmologist if so discuss with him/her. If you are seeing a non-MD non-physician optometrist see an eye MD.  No way to tell what problems your next child will/won't have.
