lasik effect on fuchs

I had a Restor lens implant along with pterigium removal in my left eye in February 2008. My vision was worse after the implant. I then attended another Ophthalmologist specialising in corneas. He told me I had Fuchs and my astigmatism was worse in the left eye that the right. However it was not bad enought to affect my sight. It was measured at 3+. I had an OCT done which showed no CME.He suggested that it was possible the Restor was causing the problem. In June this year he explanted the Restor and implanted a monofocal IOL in the sulcus as my eye had been YAGed.
Now my sight is even worse and he says the astigmatism has increased to 5+. He suggests Lasik surgery to reshape the cornea.
My concern is what effect will Lasik surgery have on the Fuchs.
What would you suggest I do?

Dear rfparky,

I would recommend that you seek care from a corneal specialist to determine what options you have. Also, have you tried contact lenses to correct your vision?

Many thanks.
My Ophthalmologist is supposed to be a corneal specialist.
I think I will try the contact lens and see if my vision improves.
Thanks for your suggestions.
