lasik is not risk free

lasik is not risk free

i got floaters 3 months post lasik.i had myopia of 8 and 8.5 before lasik.now i had power of 1 and .5 remaining in eyes after 6 months post lasik.my lasik doc says floaters are harmless and nothing can be done about it.now i am somewhat get used with floaters eventhough it is extremely annoying. My humble suggestion for all lasik docs is that it is better to do lasik in one eye at first and then do the next one after 6 months or so ,so that any damages like floaters can be prevented for atleat one eyes.i dont know whether it is practical, but according to me it so.i know docs cant stop lasik because of its high success rate (but in my case it was failure and lasik cause permenant damage to my eyes in the form of floaters).is my suggestion practical?? any docs ,any comments??

1. Floaters are very common in myopes than non-myopes.  Floaters increase in myopes and non-myopes with age.   No one gets any younger.
2. Floaters are more readily visible post lasik becaused of the reduced refractive error (just like floaters are more common after cataract surgery because of the improved vision). These floaters were there before surgery but more visible after surgery.
3. Lasik can cause floaters. It can't be avoided. Doing 6 months apart would not help that and the imbalance between the two eyes would be very troublesome.
4. I'm glad that you've done well with lasik
