left eye dilating

by lish67, May 16, 2009 06:06PM
About 6 weeks ago I went to Haiti on a medical mission.  I returned home with my left eye runny and pink and thought I had an eye infection. I went to my dr. and he gave me sulfacetamide sodium solution.  I kept my contacts out for a week and used the solution and it seemed to have cleared up.  Well it has gradually started bothering me again, so I started using the drops again.  Now my left eye is completely dilated, and contricts just a little when looking into light. Could it be the eye drops?? I didnt notice this the first time I used them.  Thank you

Sulfacetamide drops do not cause dilation.  See an ophthalmologist.  Find one on AAO.org
