light gray area in my vision

I had retinal detachment (PPV with gas bubble) surgery in my right eye almost 3 mons ago.  It took a while..over 2 mons before the blood in my right eye started getting reabsorbed.  2 weeks ago, my Doc found a small retinal tear in my right eye in which he lasered.  He said i now have new blood in the same eye because of the retinal tear.

i started noticing this light gray area in my vision about 3-4 weeks ago.  My Doc said I have New blood from the retinal tear so I thought nothing of this bec the tear is close to the blood (reallyt close to the center of my eye).  But I still see it, esp since the blood has started subsiding more.  It is blocking my vision and moves with my eye movements.  it seems to be getting smaller VERY VERY SLOWLY.  the edges of the patch seems thinner and I can still see blood/dust/black dots floating/swimming in my eye and around the light gray area.  My vision around the light gray area is clearing up some more.  i can read and see around the light gray area.  I can see color, objects, houses, trees, cars, correct colors, etc fine with no curve or distorted vision.  My eye is still blurry but then again I have a -650/-500 before the surgery so it will be blurry.  I also checked my vision using the AMSLER GRID and I didnt see any curves, distortions in the Grid.  I can also see better with the black than the white amsler grid.  I dont know if it is me analyzing everything too much.  I might have seen a very slight downward slant on the right edge of the Amlser Grid.  But then again, I cant see the whole Amsler grid because of the light gray area which my Doctor said is new blood from the retinal tear and leftover blood from the surgery.

I am just worried because it seems to be taking a long time for this light gray area to go away.  I can see, read, see color objects around the light gray area and IT SEEMS to be thinning out....but I am not 100% certain.  It is just making me nervous and causing double vision/lopsided vision for me.

1) Could this really be blood blocking my vision on the operated eye?  It is in the same spot in my eye?  Im just nervous because it is taking a while to subside.

2) should i give the light gray area more time to subside before i get myself all too worked up?  AGAIN, it SEEMS to be thinning.  I measure it daily.  Some days it seems to be smaller, other days, it seems like it didnt improve in size.

2) how long until blood subsides or gets all reabsorbed on one's eye...what's the usu normal time?

Thanks in advance for your response.  i appreciate it so much.
