I periodically (once/twice a week) have a visual disturbance that looks like I have 3 or 4 amoebas floating across my field of vision in no particular pattern. When it's bright out, they're bright.  When it's hazy out, they're dark. I cannot link these occurances with any food I eat, time of day, or even time of the month.  I'm not particularily tired when they happen.  In addition to this, now I've been getting sensations like flies landing on my legs at the same time this is happening.  By the time I look down, it goes away.  I'm 32, on synthroid, overweight, and had gestational diabetes but don't have it now (not pregnant now). Had sugar and thyroid checked, both normal, but sugar goes low sometimes (per home glucose monitor).  Thank you for your wonderful forum. Michele

what u r experiencing is very common and very normal  it is called the entopic phenomenon and what it is is that u are actually seeing your own blood cells move through retinal blood vessels.  to be sure however i would have your eyes examined.
