losing vision

I had retinal detachment surgery 9 days ago. I have been experiencing temporary vision loss in the eye, for periods of seconds to 10 minutes, in the past few days. Everything goes black or a smoke gray, I then experience a sharp pain in the eye that shoots right to the back of my head and gives me  a general headache. Then as the vision starts to return everything is blurred and goes on and off like that for a while. I think when it turns back to normal the bubble may actually be lower in the eye, leaving me with more vision, but i'm not positive on this. I told my surgeon of this, he did not seem concerned, said that this can be normal. When he last examined it on day 8 he said all appeared good, the iop in the eye was 24. I  smoke marijuana regularly, and seems that it does this more a couple hours after smoking. My question is, is this normal? Is it possible that the marijuana is causing this or causing damage to the eye? And what or why is going on when this is happening?

Thank you for your comment. I had orginaly asked the nurse, she said it wouldn't effect it.. I am however convinced otherwise. I do believe it is a direct result of the marijuana. I'm thinking that after the effects wear off, it is causing a spike in my IOP  expanding the bubble until I lose sight. My doctor says if it goes black more than a couple hours to notify him... I think I will take your suggestion and layoff till the bubble has dissapped away. I will certainly take no more chances, being this happened all 3 times a couple hours after smoking. Thanks again
