lost contact lense in eye

Why    when i tried to take my lense out, I could'nt find it, can  it get lost in the back of the eye.

Please don't start digging in the eye for the  contact because that is far more harmful than a lost contact.  If you have irritation or pain or vision loss please see an ophthalmologist immediately.  If you truly think the contact is stuck in there somewhere, go ahead and call your ophthalmologist or optometrist right away to get some help.

No, it can't get lost.  Take a look at this drawing of the eye:

Your contact sits over the cornea on a thin, one-piece membrane (the conjunctiva) that is continuous with the part of the eye you can see as well as the insides of your eyelids.  If you contact gets lost, it can't go any further than just underneath your upper or lower eyelid.  It's either there or out on the floor.
