low vision myopic eye

My eight year old daughter has a vision of 6/12 in her right eye having a power of -6D spherical & 1.75 cylindrical and a vision of 6/6 in her left eye having a power of -4D spherical & 1.5 cylindrical.Can her vision be improved by any method like patching or any thing else? Can the power be stabilised or it may go on increasing?Is there any exercise that you can suggest?

Some eight year olds with amblyopia (an eye that does not see normally) will respond to patching or "penalization" (using atropine drops in the good eye to prevent reading).

See an Eye MD ophthalmologist and discuss the possibility of occlusion therapy. Remeber to have all kids and all relative's kids checked.

There is no way to stablize the power as it reflects growth of the eye.
