lower eyelid mole

I have a mole on my lower eyelid, which is asymmetrical in shape. Its border is irregular and the color is uneven - varies from brown to black. It is about 2-3 mm, right on my lash line. I am really scared. I had my doctor checked it. And he took a picture of it and said that if it changes in size or whatever, then he can take it out.

I am worried that it might be cancer (I had squamous cell cancer on my face - about half an inch away from this mole and it was removed in 2001). And I am wondering if the doctor has to remove this one on my eyelid, it will disfigure me. I just don't see how it could be done without reshaping the eye or leave a scar on my eyelid.

Could cancer grow on one's eyelash line? Is there any way to remove it without being disfigured?

thanks!

Yes, skin cancers (epitheliam, squamous and Meibomian gland cancers can occur on the eye lid)

Yes they can usually be removed without disfigurement.

See an oculoplastic surgeon. Find one at www.aao.org

Thank you so much, Dr. Hagan!
I searched www.aao.org for oculoplastic surgeon in my area. But under the "subspecialty," the closest that I could only fine were "Ocular Oncology" or "Plastics/Reconstructive,"
not oculoplastic surgeon. Which "subspecialty" will an oculoplastic surgeon belong to? How do I know if a doctor is experienced in dealing with such condition?
Thank you again for your help!

Plastics/Reconstruction would do just fine.
