macular edema

macular edema

in 2006 i had a scleral buckle to fix a detached retina. apon exam a month ago i was diagnosed with macular edema and was put on Nevanac which is an NSAID. My retinal specialist told me no to lose sleep over it and that it would not cause blindness. I do have central vision blurriness which is a symptom of the ME. I am not diabetic. I have noticed a few new floaters and was just wondering if this could be caused by the ME? i have a re-check appointment in a month to see if the drops are working. Are the new floaters caused by the Macular Edema? If so, will they go away once the inflammation goes down?

Macular edema does not cause floaters. I suggest you call your retina Eye MD to see if an office visit sooner is advisable
