macular hole progression

When it is determined there is a macular hole will vision continue to deteriorate unless operated on?

It depends on the size of the hole and the amount of subretinal fluid and other factors such as the status of the vitreous gel ( is it already separated or is it still pulling on the macula.)   Each case is unique.  A good retinal specialist ophthalmologist should be able to answer your question for your unique situation.  If you are not satisfied, get a second opinion.
