macular hole surgery

I had surgery to repair a macular hole 2 days ago.  Have kept my face down til last night.  turned over and slept on my back probably for 6 hours (this was night 2 post surgery).  Did I do irreparable damage?  Today I see a black outline around the outside of my eyeball.is this normal.  My vision was20/25 before surgery.  I am not diabetic andin good health, age 51 female.  Will staying down 6 more days help?

Sorry but you need to call your surgeon about this.  Proper positioning is important to try to obtain the best results but sometimes we all fall a little short to don't beat yourself up over this.  I'm sure that continued proper positioning will be quite helpful in your long term recovery.
