macular holes

I know you cannot fly for at least 6 months after a repair (vitrectomy) but can you fly before, while waiting for surgery? Thanks

I had a vitrectomy with a gas bubble last year,i live on one of the Britsh islands so had to have my surgery at the st pauls eye unit in Liverpool on the British mainland.
I flew to Liverpool on my way to the hospital but i had to travel home by boat,i was given the all clear to fly about 12 weeks after my surgery.
I hope all goes well for you.

You are wrong. Flying is only a problem if the eye has air or gas in it. If there is no air or gas you can fly before and after. If air or gas used you can fly when the air and/or gas reabsorbs. That doesn't take 6 months.
