mole in the eyeball

i was told i have a mole with pigmention and thickening.  i have lymphoma,  what does it mean to have a mole in the eyeball? i'm scared please answer. thank you

Just like a mole on your arm or back, they can rarely transform into a melanoma.  The larger and thicker the mole or nevus, the greater the chance of this happening.  Typically the risk is very, very low for the average mole or nevus.  The key here is to ask your doctor what the size and thickness is and what the chances are of it becoming a melanoma.  It is likely unrelated to the lymphoma in any way.  I see these things daily and if I mention one to a patient I always explain the size and the chances of any problems developing.  Please call your doctor, it is most likely nothing to worry about unless it was large and impressive and in those cases the patients are almost always referred to a retinal specialist.
