more weird visual phenomemon after scleral buckle surgery

hello, i am a 22 yr old female, and had a scleral buckle and gas treatment for a detached retina 5 weeks ago. i have had several scares in which i thought my retina had detached again, but each time it was just a false alarm (first was for flashing, and second was because i thought i was losing my peripheral vision, but the shape of my eye had just changed). anyway, to say the least i think the retina consultants who deal with me are tired of me calling the after hours emergency line.. and now i am having more strange visual effects. this time, the top right corner of my vision is constantly doing this strange flickering business where it looks like my vision is slowly bubbling away, and there is a peripheral blind spot behind the bubbling. is this a normal healing process? my doctor told me to watch for a dark curtain effect (and i don't know if that is what i am experiencing, because its so far in the peripheral vision), but is that normally accompanied by the bubbling or "eating away" effect?

It's hard to tell without knowing wheter you still have gas bubble left in your eye.  I think it is most likely from the gas bubble but call your doctor during business hours to discuss.  If it is retinal detachment, it would grow slowly toward your central vision.
