Food is not a factor in treating this problem. Myopia often progresses as the child gets older. Even if the retina is "normal" in the highly myopic eye it still means intensive treatment as I outlined in my previous answer.

So do u think is better to have a prescribed glasses or contact lenses .when I asked the doctor about his bad eye he told me he has a healthy retina . So I am alittle bit confused . Do u mean he will get worse with time in both eyes and is there any kind of food can help him regain some of his vision. Let me know pl . Thx
While it is not likely that the "Good" eye will not develop "high myopia" or the "Bad" eye will not go completely blind the prognosis for "good vision" in the bad eye is not good. Good vision might mean 20/50 or better. Much treatment will be required and may include: glasses, contact lens, patching, exams under anesthesia, refractive surgery, lens-IOL surgery. The problem is called "unilateral high myopia" and the vision can be down due to "refractive amblyopia" or "high myopic disease of the retina and macula. Make a list of your questions and ask the ped Eye MD next visit. You will be in the ophthalmologists office a lot over the next 16 to 18 years.

Thank you for looking at my post . My baby is only 10 month old and I got 2 other children .one is 11 years old and the other is 10 years old . Both got myopia but it is really low one has -0.5 in one eye and -0.75 in the other. The other one got -2.25 in both eyes . My infant doctor is a pediatric ophthalmologist. Please give some advice
1. How old is your child?
2. Do you have other children.
3. Is your ophthalmologist (eye MD) a pediatric specialist?
