1) Nothing, currently there is no treatment.  Possible treatment in the future.  There have been experiments in dogs with the missing gene injected into the eye restoring some sight.

2) Complete eye exam and ancillary tests--ERG( electro retinogram).

3) No treatment

4) As soon as it is recognized.  You can get a referral to a specialist who can do a number of test and inform you of possible upcoming treatment.  Also,  genetic counseling is important.
