no trauma to my eye

Wednesday morning i woke up with a weird red spot ( possible blood)  in the corner of my left eye ball. I did however fall asleep with my contacts in. There is no pain, no irritation, and no change in eye site. As the day went on it looked like it had spread.  Husband and i both medical thought it could be busted blood vesel. Any suggestions. Side note in boot camp after gas chamber friend eye turned same way but her intire eye turned blood red doc told her ruptured blood veines. nothing to do but wait it out and eye drops to keep moist.

You are most likely right although Eye MDs call this a subconjunctival hemorrhage. If the vision is good, no pain, no pus like discharge you can get by without seeing an Eye physician (ophthalmologist).

Consider yourself to have gotten off easy. Not always a happy ending with sleeping in your contacts (if not extended wear).
