ocular migraine

I live in Texas. The sun is bright most ever day. Occasionally while playing golf, I get visual disturbances in both eyes - kaleidescope-like lights, and a sense of eye strain. (No pain)

It goes away in a few minutes once inside. My Optometrist called it ocular migraine, but I can't find any info online that match my symptoms. Is this something I should be concerned about?

1. Yes you should be concerned since there are other things that can cause those symptoms including disease of the heart, brain, eye and blood vessels.
2. You need to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Forget the optometrist. He/she doesn't have the training to make a proper diagnosis.
3. Use the search feature here to read the many posts on "Ocular migraine" or "eye migraine" and TIA transient ischemic attacks.
4. Google IMAGES age type in ophthalmic migraine to see typical "spots".
