optic nerve sheath meningioma

i'm 60 yaers old lady, last 2 months i observed that i\m not seeing well with my right eye, i went to an ophthalmologist and underwent complete eye examination and every thing was normal' visual feild analysis showed near total loss of vision of right eye, MRI & CT revealed a mass measuring about 1x1.8cm on the intracanalicular portion of the right optic nerve extending to cavernous sinous on the right side mostly meningioma or neurofibroma, i want to know the possibility of going through this surgery, how easy or defficult is it? what are the possibled complication? any recomended center for this kind of surgery?

You need to see either a neuroophthalmologist or oculoplastic/orbital surgeon and possibly both for this.  Most big name academic centers will have both if they have an ophthalmology department.  If you tell us what city you live in, we could try and find the closest to you.  The biggest risk with these surgeries is to the optic nerve and eye itself but you should discuss all your questions with the surgeon who ends up doing the surgery itself.  Good luck.
