out damned spot

by verytense, Nov 24, 2007 10:21PM
I am really annoyed about a spot that has appeared in my right eye when I blink. It's the strangest thing. I went to the eye doctor (MD) and she dilated my eye and could not find anything wrong, told me to come back if I had symptoms of retinal detachment etc.
It's been two weeks now and the spot will not go away. It's getting really old. If my retina is fine, what could be the problem? Could it be some kind of eye stroke or would the doctor have seen that?

If the spot moves when you move your eye its likely a floater, if its always in the same fixed spot you need a second opinion and special tests such as Amsler grid, visual field and possibibly macular OCT and/or fluoroscene angiogram.

I had an OCT (at least I think I did).
