pain in inner corner of eye

pain in inner corner of eye

Two weeks ago I felt as though I scratched my the inner eyelid of my right eye. A red dot formed on my eyelid. It was very painful at the time, a sharp pain when I looked in certain directions, and an itchy dry pain in general. Now the pain is starting to bother me a lot more. It feels like the corners of my eyelashes are glued together, even though my eye looks find. I have an urge to rub my eye all the time, but when I touch it, it just feels worse. The pain is irritating and scary since I don't know what is happening. Should I see an optician? Would regular eye drops help? What do you think the problem is?

You may have scrated the cornea in addition to the eyelid. You should see a Eye MD ophthalmologist specialist. In USA find one at www.aao.org  same day exam would not be unusual.

If you are in UK good luck getting in the NHS for a similiar exam.
