pain in left eye in night

by lotte72, Jan 22, 2009 05:17AM
I often wake in the night with a severe pain in my left eye. It feels like I have something in my eye. My doctor says it is migraine but it's really odd that it just started happening suddenly and recurrs and there is no reason for waking in the night like this. I do have migraine during the day but not like this. Regular pain killers do not help but if I keep my eye closed and rest it does go but feels sore for a while afterwards. Just not sure that the migraine diagnosis is correct. Any other suggestions?

You need to see an ophthalmologist.  Many cause some need immediate attention.  Does not sound like migraine to me.
