pain over left eye

Hello i was wondering if i could get some advice.

Today i had some eye strain after driving around for an hour. About an hour later my left eye felt worse and i almost had a headache in that eye. The eye itself felt painful and sore inside (deep pain). I took some pain killers and ibuprofen and it relieved it. Now the pain has gone that eye that was effected feels sore and almost dry & gritty as i move my eye ball around. I also feel generally weak now.

I have what i think is TMJ as i grit my teeth a lot and last night my temples ached as does my neck and shoulders etc. And do suffer with Eustachian tube dysfunction and tend to pop my ears quite regularly which i no can cause added pressure around your eyes But today's pain was new, and thought i would gain some advice. I also thought i would mention that i had my eyes tested about 3 months ago and they said i was short sighted and gave me a new prescription for glasses which i am yet to get. I find that driving particular gives me horrendous eye strain which i can cope with my resting my eyes but today's problem was particularly painful.

Thank you for your time

Nicola

Thank you

Eye strain is not recognized as a common trigger for eye migraines and will not cause migraines to develop.

You could have cerebral aneurysm and have it not show up in the eye tests you had.

I went back to the opticians and it turns out they think its eye migraines from straining due to being short sighted. Does that sound right? They did tests for glaucoma & tumors and they said it was all clear,
However someone said that these pains have been associated with a cerebral anyresm so now i am worried.

Could an anyresm show in the tests the opticians did?

Sorry, we do not like to "guess" here and I can't be more specific.

1 TMJ will not cause eye pain like that.
2. Proper glasses will not give you pain while driving..

For your eyes see an Ophthalmologist Eye MD for a second opinion. Find one at www.aao.org
