pale eye due to optic neuritis

Hi Everyone-
I was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis in my right eye first in 2009. I went to an to neurologists, ophthalmologists, and a Opthaneurologist...and no one could figure out the cause. They told me that Optic Neuritis can be the first most prominent symptom for the disease MS...They ran me through all of the testing for this, MRI, blood work, spinal tap and no signs of MS. My vision never improve the doctor says my eye is pale and will never get better. I have HSV 2 and was taking valtex for the last five years could this be the cause of optic neuritis and how do I prevent this from happening to my other eye.

Dear LISALOVE31139,

I would recommend that you speak with your eyeMD about this possibility and ask your neuro-ophthalmologist for their advice.
