Hi, I have Pars Planitis, my Doctor suspects ms, I am waiting for mri appt. The doctor said my chances are 1 in 10 that I do have ms. Do you agree?

Pars Planitis is NOT related to multiple sclerosis. They are two entirely different problems. If you have pars planitis you are NOT more likely to get MS.  If you misunderstood and your have optic neuritis then it's a different story. The most common cause of optic neuritis is MS.

You need to clarify this with your ophthalmologist.

Hello oh Well.  You are absolutely right and I am absolutely wrong. I was speaking from clinical experience and had not looked up the most recent literature (another reason I enjoy this forum is that I learn from patient posting's also). In one study 7.4% of pars planitis patients developed MS. Here is a reference for anyone interested:  http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/content~content=a714018377~db=all

thanks again for setting me straight and I hope your MRI is "clean".
