partial loss of color perception in one eye

Lately I notice that upon wakening I have diminished color perception in one eye.  During the day this is not the case.  When I was searching online for other, seemingly unrelated conditions I have, I came across something in an article on Multiple Sclerosis that mentioned diminished color perception (though not the detail of it being in "one eye"). Currently my doctor is sending me to a specialist for tests to rule out Multiple Sclerosis, because I do have a couple of symptons.  Could this condition with my eyes be related to Multiple Sclerosis?
Thank you.

Yes it could. See an Eye MD or Neuro ophthalmologist. Ask to have your color vision tested separately in each eye and have an amsler grid and field of vision test.
